Happy Easter

We had a busy Easter Sunday, from church to egg hunts and Easter baskets. Evan had a great time and we enjoyed seeing this holiday for the first time as parents.

Evan loves his Aunt Andie's kissy face!

This Place is a Zoo!

Last weekend we went to the Louisville Zoo for my company's annual Easter Party. We've been to the event for several years, taking our nephew Landon, but this year was a first for Evan. He had a great time, even if he wasn't very fond of the giant Easter Bunny.

Having fun with Uncle Aaron...

Evan and Landon would much rather play than pose for the camera...

No April Fools!

I'm a little biased, but saying 'mama' has to be one of the best sounds ever. We went shopping yesterday with my Mom and he said it three times! Maybe he was voicing his opinion on the clothes I was buying for him?

Evan's been socializing quite a bit in the past few weeks. He met up with his honorary Grandma Sharon when she was in town visiting from Atlanta.

And looking a little sleepy with Sharon's mom, Billie:

Then Evan's Nana came to visit last weekend and he had a grand time showing her all his new skills, including of course, saying Nana!

I know we express our disbelief each month at how fast Evan is growing up, but it's true. Ten months have flown by, but we're enjoying every moment (except maybe all those sleepless nights!)

March is for Milestones

I had every intention of posting this last week, but I got the flu and Evan had a double ear infection and pink eye, so we were both out of pocket for a few days. I'll be glad when spring weather is here ...and hopefully fewer germs!

Evan decided he was going to knock out three milestones in a single week. On Monday (the 9th), he started low crawling (aka the Army crawl) while visiting my parents' house. On Wednesday, he pulled up to his feet all on his own. And on Friday, just to round out the week and applaud his own accomplishments, he started clapping his hands. We finally got it on video today:

And our fine Irish lad was all set to woo the ladies on St. Patrick's Day until he got pink eye. Darn the luck. But he still looked pretty cute in his tee-shirt from Nana.

Nine Months Old!

This monthly picture taking process is becoming quite a challenge. I thought it was difficult trying to prop up a roly poly two month old, but just try getting a nine month old not to grab the enticing piece of paper you've sat next to him. Here's our first attempt, slyly trying to hold the sign behind him:

Okay, maybe if I try to hold the baby...

Yeah, this clearly wasn't our best effort....

Maybe the book will distract him? If only he was looking at the camera!

Finally! That paper has seen better days. Never a dull moment with Evan.
