There are so many things I could write about my "baby" turning six years old. How different this year has been. How much he has grown. How incredible a big brother he is. The awesome moments...and the challenging ones too. In the past I've written letters to Evan for his birthdays. Since I wrote a few months ago about some of what this year has brought I thought I'd take a slightly different format this time.
He is an awesome kid.

Charming.

Contemplative.

Funny!

And full of joy.

I love this poem by A.A. Milne (author of the Winnie the Pooh books). It perfectly describes how a six year old thinks. All those previous years were fine and good, but as Evan would say, "I'm six now and that's nearly grown up."
"When I was one, I had just begun.

When I was two, I was nearly new.

When I was three, I was hardly me.

When I was four, I was not much more.

When I was five, I was just alive.

But now I am six, I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be six now and forever."

I don't want to stop time, but this sure is happening fast. We love you, Evan.
