Gymnastics Makes for Future Video Embarassment

Gymnastics has provided its fair share of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Since parents have to remain outside the gym and observe either through windows or from the balcony above, the photo ops aren't great but it's still fun to watch.

Last week his class was tested on several different routines. I'm pretty sure some of these they'd never even tried, but the kids didn't seem phased. Evan got this back roll thing pretty quickly (excuse my lack of gymnastics terminology, I have his skills test sheet, but this one wasn't on it). Note: just click on the image to bring up the video.

But then at the next round, this happened. I love the way he just hops up at the end to start over.

It's tough when your head is bigger than the rest of your body.

And a few iPhone pics for good measure.

This one makes me laugh every time.

WOW, that is AWESOME! And it's "back walkover" that he's trying to do, I think...technically it's landing one leg at a time, and with both legs, it's a back handspring, but then you are actually "springing". DAMN I want to trade children with you, this is SO what I wanted Piper to be, and he's rocking it.

Ha ha ha, well there are still two openings in his class if you want to drive to Indiana once a week! Dont be too jealous, I skipped over the videos of him sticking his tongue out, doing the pee pee dance, or my personal favorite, randomly running to the window to shout "I love you!"
You might try a search for a USA Gymnastics member gym by zip code: http://usagym.org/pages/usagymclub/findagym.html. Who knows, maybe Piper's just holding back her inner gymnast and will surprise you!
