Scott Kelby Annual Worldwide Photo Walk

This past Saturday was the 4th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. Who is Scott Kelby? He's Adobe's (makers of Photoshop products) favorite photographer, that's who. He writes extremely popular books on Adobe products, interspersing hilarious remarks throughout so they don't feel like instruction manuals. I was lucky enough to receive the Lightroom book from my in-laws last Christmas and I LOVE it. I haven't even gotten through 1/3 of it yet (darned book club keeps forcing me to put it down) and I've learned a ton.

Anyway, Kelby orchestrates a worldwide photo walk annually where groups of photographers get together and walk around their respective cities together taking photos. It's free and easy to sign up, and you don't have to be a pro. You can shoot a Polaroid or a D3, doesn't matter, the important part is meeting other people who also enjoy photography and have fun shooting.

So when I saw one in our city, I emailed my sister-in-law, and asked if she wanted to go. We had a blast! It was nice to be able to talk about a mutual interest without having to respond to a screaming child (hers or mine). Our walk leader also built in an extra hour after our walk so we could all gather, have a drink, and chat about what we captured.

Then, the tough part - going through all the pictures and deciding which one to submit to the contest. I rarely do landscapes or architecture, so this was a challenge for me. No children running away from my camera? What's that all about?

I narrowed it down to these:

Or b/w?

I submitted this one for the contest. What do you think?
