Hurricane Evan

Hurricane Ike blew into town on the 14th and knocked out our power for five days. It was Evan's Grandma's birthday, so we had to postpone her celebration and rely on Hurricane Evan for entertainment. He provided, of course. He's so close to rolling over and we keep the camera ready just in case. Here's some video footage of him, almost there!

Evan went to his first bluegrass festival a few weeks ago too. Here's a pic with his Grandma Z., in his snazzy sun hat.

I love this photo with his Grandpa Z. He's such a happy baby!

Feeling Better and More "Firsts"

Evan has recovered from his bout with bronchialitis (a fancy name for what seemed like a cold), and is smiling and screaming again. He's also decided sleeping through the night is for sissies. He might miss a big party, right?! [Sigh] I've gotten very good at sleeping upright, and Dan is a master at finding a pacifier with his eyes closed. He's such a happy baby though. We heard his first laugh yesterday, and that made a hundred sleepless nights worthwhile.

Three Months Old, His First Cold and Long Distance Fans

Evan turned three months old yesterday! He's quite the vocal baby now and when he's happy he'll scream at high pitches to let you know it. Unfortunately, just in time for his big day, he also got his first cold. We had to get pictures between sniffle fits. . .

Only a half smile today!

Evan's Auntie Alicia came to visit him for the long weekend and wins the award for traveling the farthest distance to see him. All the way from Colorado!

Little Buckeye?

Evan's Nana and Poppy came to visit a couple of weeks ago. They live in Ohio and are big Ohio State fans. Evan was so excited to see them he wore his first OSU onesie. Shh, don't tell his Uncle Aaron, he's an IU fan!

Is August already here?

Returning to work last week was really tough, but Evan was a little champ so it's only fair that his Mommy should be too. Dan is on Daddy duty and doing a GREAT job. He sent me updates and this picture on my first day back. That sad little face!

Evan's Aunt Andie also watched him a couple of days too and took some fun photos of him and his cousin, Landon.
