Happy Birthday, Evan!

We spent Evan's actual birthday at home. It takes a full day just to get all those gifts out of the boxes anyway (WHY do manufacturers feel the need to use 72 twisty ties on a beach ball?), then Dan had to assemble. Thankfully this is a job he loves. I loved that Evan slept until 9 a.m. this morning. Apparently parties are exhausting even for two year olds. He woke up this morning and was excited to unwrap his gift from us. He even dressed up for the occasion.

Turns out this Memorial Day was also the perfect day to test out Evan's new beach ball sprinkler.

Party Time

We celebrated Evan's second birthday with the usual fanfare - family, friends, food and cake.  Unlike last year though, Evan didn't take any time out for a nap.  There was far too much fun to be had!

Found this little video taken a couple of weeks ago.

Our little man is getting so big - feeding himself, talking, and yes, for the first time this Sunday he used the potty!! Woo hoo!  The kicker?  He was at church and he asked!  I've tried all the tricks at home and while he's amused at this little game, it never amounted to anything.  I wonder if our church takes boarders?

Happy Mother's Day

Evan's day care teacher gave me a card this morning that Evan made in class yesterday.  Well, by "made" I mean   I'm sure he enjoyed sticking his hands in paint and making a mess.  This was the result.
