Call the ILO!

Do you SEE why he has us wrapped around his little finger?  I mean, come on, could you resist that face?

But, that's not to say I'm a complete softie.  I started teaching Evan some chores at an early age.  Perhaps you'll remember the hamper lesson?  Now we've moved on to bigger - and louder - things.  Evan's newest obsession is the vacuum.  Because he insists on 'helping,' last week I had to schlep him around on my back while vacuuming.  Carrying a nearly 30-pound rucksack on one's back while cleaning floors?  Fun times.  If anyone knows where I can find a working kid-sized vacuum, please tell me. Why not put that motivation to good use?  The irony that I'm working on a Human Rights Policy at work while also trying to institute child labor in my own household is not totally lost on me.  Here's my excuse:

Vacation fever, perhaps?

Bags are packed, sand pail and toys are ready, just crunching the numbers....

And calling the ladies....

I don't know, you think Evan's trying to tell us something?

Easter Continued

In my opinion, Easter is even more fun than Christmas.  This is why:

Monogrammed jon-jon?  You betcha'!
Knee socks on impossibly chubby legs?  Surprisingly, yes.
Ridiculously expensive oxfords?  But, but, the outfit NEEDED them!

Evan makes the most of it and struts his stuff on the boardwalk.  Isn't he delicious?  I mean, seriously, it's not everyday you get called Little Lord Fauntleroy.

Showing great form.

ZOMG, CHOCOLATE!!!

Evan:  I'll show Mommy what I think of this get-up she put me in.  Check out mah' goldfish crackers!  Nom nom!

Happy Easter

It's been a busy few weeks.  Evan decided to come down with (and share) a fun-sized case of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. To be honest, the first time I heard of this I thought okay, I know I haven't let my kid play with any cows or other farm animals.  Ah yes, I'd confused HFM with Hoof and Mouth. Two very, very different animals, so to speak.

We're back on track now and Evan has turned his attention to much more exciting things - like Easter bunnies, chocolate, baskets, chocolate, toys, chocolate.  Evan LOVES this holiday (he is definitely my child).

We went to the Zoo for the annual  Easter party.  This year Evan added face painting to the repertoire.

And wonder of wonders, he actually sat on the Easter Bunny's lap.

Checking out his loot.

Liking this whole hidden candy thing...

But finally time for a nap on Aunt Andie's shoulder.

And a pose with a surprise visit from his grandparents.

This week my sister-in-law was nice enough to take some Easter photos in the park.  Goodness this boy is photogenic.

Happy Easter!
